Short Story

A little about Me

I've been writing for a long time. Writing to me is my voice; it is how I navigate the world and see it for what it is. It grounds me but it also leaves me floating.

My name is Zyaire Cheatham. I'm a writer based in Seattle, Washington, where I live with my sister, Jade, my two senior dogs, Brownie and Izzy, and my cat, Luna. I recently earned my MFA in Creative Writing and Poetics from the University of Washington Bothell.

This website is a home for my writing, including my MFA thesis project—a collection I spent the past year bringing to life. It's also a space for me to connect with the vibrant Washington writing community. Thank you for reading, and I hope you find something here that stays with you.
